What is S.M.A.R.T.?
Speed
Training - How fast one can go from point A to point B, and
that is an important tribute to many sports.
Speed development depends on muscular strength and power.
Training that develops these attributes which will help improve
movement and performance.
We develop speed at Tip Top with timed sprints, band
strengthening, body weight exercieses and much more.
Muscle Balance - the body tends to favor use of certain
muscles during movement according to energy efficiency, anatomy
or personal style. A muscle in a pair of muscles that is used
most frequently can develop a more profound strength then the
opposite muscle. without a properly designed training program,
unbalanced muscle groups can cause poor posture, inefficiency of
movement, lack of coordination and injuries to the joints.
Tip Top uses surgical tubes, power bands, body weight and
balance boards to develop muscle balance.
Agility - the ability to change the body's position, and
requires a combination of balance, coordination, speed, reflexes,
strength, endurance and endurance. Tip Top uses running tubes,
cone change of direction and various exercises to improve
agility.
Routine - a course of action to be followed regularly.
Mindee will put together a pre and post dynamic warm up routine
before each practice and competition. There are also a set of
CORE exercises the athletes do on a daily basis and stay within
the routine so they get in Tip Top shape!
Technique - the ability in which an athlete employs the
technical skills. At Tip Top Training I am very specific about
running technique, administering the exercise, and teaching the
athlete the exact movement of the exercise. I will video tape
the exercise and show the athlete exactly what they need to feel
in the exercise.
